The Islamic Society of Central Virginia would like to thank you for visiting our
website. With your support we would like to complete Phase I of our project Insha-Allah.
We currently reside in a house that is over 100 years old and is walking distance
away from the University of Virginia Medical Center and University (UVA) Grounds.
Our community is growing with members who live in and up to 40 miles away from the
Charlottesville Virginia area, with students from the University of Virginia’s many
educational programs (undergrad program, Medical, Law and Business schools, Medical
Residents and Medical Fellowships), refugees from Europe, Russia, Iraq and Africa
and international students studying with the JAG school.
As you can see a substantial portion of our community does not have any means of
currently generating income that allows them to donate in a sum total sufficient
enough to complete the Phase I of our project. Thus we must pursue funding from
outside of the Charlottesville, Virginia area. Only by the help and will of Allah,
we have collected over one million dollars towards a goal of building a Masjid that
can accommodate the needs of the entire Muslim community and the Phase I work for
this goal has started – Alhamdullilah.
The Masjid being constructed will still be within walking distance of the Medical
Center and University Grounds. Your support will go towards the completion of Phase
I, Insha-Allah. Construction is going quickly and as is our current funds, and we
forecast that without additional support from you we would not be able to complete
the requirements of Phase I and satisfy the fees due to our contractor by December
of 2009.

Masjid, Insha-Allah. Perhaps this is the good deed that you need that will help
you through your trials and ours –
